Competitions
Social/Business 6-aside Half Turf - Tuesday Evenings
* This grade is suitable for people wanting to have a go at hockey in a social environment
Competition Rules and Guidelines:
- Four adults and or secondary school aged players must be on the turf at any one time
- 15 minute halves timed by timers, 5 minute half time
- Six field players, no goalie required, unlimited substitutes
- NO hitting of the ball and no intentionally raised balls
- Goals must be scored from inside the circle
- Sticks can be provided
Competitive 8-aside Full Turf - Monday Evenings
Competition Rules and Guidelines:
- 15 minute halves, 5 minute half time
- 8 field players, GOALIES compulsory
- The ball can be hit and/or raised provided it is not deemed dangerous
- 8 second shootout will replace penalty corners
- Standard goal scoring applies
- Mouth guards and shin pads compulsory
- Goals must be scored from inside the circle

Registration/Payment Deadlines
Post Xmas Competitions Forms Thursday 13th February 2025
Payments Within 7 days of receipt of invoice
Uniforms
All teams will be required to wear a team T-Shirt/Singlet or at least all players in the same colour top. Teams are required to submit this in the team entry form.
Payment
Teams will be invoiced their entry fee. These are due within 7 days of receipt. You can pay at the HSC office on Tuesday night or online. Details on the invoice.
Umpires – Competitive Grade Only
Teams will be rostered for umpire duties. Please make sure these are fulfilled as per the draw. Teams who do not supply an umpire may lose competition points.
Draws
Draws will be available on the HSC Facebook page weekly www.facebook.com/hockeysouthcanterbury and also emailed to team contacts.
Defaults/Cancellations
Any team needing to default a match must notify competition organiser Janelle Amalfitano 021 16 15 121 at least 12 hours before your game.
If the weather is not suitable for play cancellations will be posted on the Hockey South Canterbury Website www.hockeysouthcanterbury.co.nz and also on the Hockey South Canterbury Facebook page www.facebook.com/hockeysouthcanterbury Team contacts will also be emailed.
