U15 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Programme Purpose:

Provide an inclusive development opportunity that extends 13–15-year-old (under 15) athletes, and coaches of this age group, beyond the experiences they receive in club/school hockey

Who:

Open to ALL Under 15 athletes who want to participate in a development programme that aims to extend them beyond their club and school playing experiences. Athletes must meet the below criteria:

• Must be Year 9, 10 & 11 at school and under the age of 15 as of 1 January 2025.

• Must be affiliated and play for a club or school team entered in the HSC Competition.

Programme Details:

Phase One - 4 x development sessions. Each session will be 1.5 hours, and all players will be named in teams to play games v Mid Canterbury and North Otago at the Ian Worner Trophy Fixture. 

Phase Two – Alpiners South Island Under 15 Tournament

Under 15 Boys Dates – Phase One:

Training sessions will be held between 5pm – 8pm.  Once registrations close players will be advised of their training time. 

Sunday 31st August – Development Training Session

Thursday 4th September – Development Training Session

Sunday 7th September – Development Training Session

Thursday 11th September – Development Training Session

Saturday 13th September – Games v Mid Canterbury/North Otago (Ian Worner Trophy Fixture)

Cost:

$60.00 per player. This will cover turf hire, training gear, coaching, administration-based costs and the Mid Canterbury/North Otago Fixture.  This will be invoiced by Hockey South Canterbury and must be paid before the programme commences.  If payment is an issue, please contact us to discuss payment options. We are more than happy to set up payment plans to assist our families. 

Phase Two Information:

Alpiners South Island Under 15 Tournament –. At the conclusion of the Phase One programme HSC will name 1 x Boys team to play for South Canterbury at this tournament.  If Phase One players are not available for Phase Two, they must indicate this on the registration form when signing up. 

Boys Team Training Dates: 

Tuesday 16th September – 5.00pm – 6.30pm

Thursday 18th September – 5.00pm – 6.30pm

Tuesday 23rd September – 5.00pm – 6.30pm

Tuesday 25th September – 5.00pm – 6.30pm

Tournament Dates: Monday 29th September – Friday 3rd October in Christchurch at Nunweek Park. 

Cost: Approximately $450.  This will include accommodation, travel, food, tournament playing costs and all other associated costs for a tournament. HSC hoodies will be an extra cost to players if they require a new one.  If payment is an issue, please contact us to discuss payment options.
